Why were lepers thrown out of camp (5:2)?
Notice in 5:5-7 that the person who sins against the Lord and is going to make things right, makes them right against the PERSON whom they have wronged. Does that mean when we sin against each other we sin against God?!
5:11-31 “The Adultery Test” my translators have written. This is an interesting passage. But why does it only pertain to the jealous husband? What about the suspicious wife?
I think that other than the occurrences in John, 5:22 is the only double amen. No, Nehemiah 8:6; Psalm 41:13; 72:19; 89:52; and 24 times in John.
Why would both vinegar and grapes be denied the one who takes a special vow (Nazirite 6:3-4)? It was NOT the general custom for men of Jesus’ day (nor earlier) to grow their hair long. The long hair of the Nazirite was a sign to the people that this person was under a special vow to God. Remember Chapter 6 of Numbers when we get to Judges and read about Samson. He was to be a Nazirite but broke all the vows.
Did you know that this blessing was here (6:24-26)?
Save me Lord! Let the lying lips be dumb. That says SO much!
