Day 121: Jeremiah 30-36

God instructs Jeremiah to write all the words the He has spoken to him in a book.  Jacob will be restored.  The Lord gives them a new covenant.  Jeremiah is imprisoned.   The Lord tells Jeremiah about the restoration.  The Lord proclaims that a “righteous Branch of David will spring forth and execute justice and righteousness on the earth”.  The Lord says that, “the land of king Zedekiah of Judah will be given over to Babylon, and he will burn it with fire”.  The Rechabites have been obedient to all their fathers have told them concerning houses and not drinking wine.  Jonadab, the son of Rechab is rewarded for keeping his father’s commands.  Judah is rebuked for not listening to God.  Baruch writes on a scroll, all the words that Jeremiah received from the Lord.  The scroll will then be read in the temple.  When the king heard the words on the scroll, he cut it a burned it in the fire and was not afraid.  God hid Baruch and Jeremiah from the king.  God told Jeremiah to make a new scroll and to inform the king that we would be punished along with all his servants for not listening to the Lord.
