Day 119: Jeremiah 17-22

We learn about the deceitful heart.  Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.  He is the potter and we are the clay, He can remake us into something the pleases Him.  Jeremiah uses a broken jar to illustrate what God is planning.  Pashhur had Jeremiah beaten and put in the stocks for the things he was prophesying.  Jeremiah prophesied about the downfall of Pashhur.  Jeremiah complains to the Lord about the trials of his life as a prophet.  Jeremiah has a message of dread for King Zedekiah.  “‘Thus says the LORD, “Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor Also do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place.'”  God will make Judah an example to other nations.  Jeremiah gives us several messages about the kings.
