Today begins our journey through Jeremiah. May God bless you as you read His word.
“Before I formed you in your mother’s womb I knew you.” “Then the LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me. “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”” “They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you,” declares the LORD.” We read on about how evil came upon Judah. The land has become polluted. Israel has been faithless. God allows for repentance. Judah is under the threat of invasion. There is much devastation in the land due to the invasion. We read of how Jerusalem has strayed from the Lord. The Lord says that a far away nation will come a destroy them, but not completely. God proclaims judgement on the people. An enemy approaches. “Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, “Amend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place.” “Then I will make to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land will become a ruin.”
