Day 114: Isaiah 49-54

Salvation is explored in today’s reading.  Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth! Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people and will have compassion on His afflicted.  God will not forget us.  “Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.”  All will know that God is our Savior and Redeemer.  ” Thus says your Lord, the LORD, even your God Who contends for His people, “Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of reeling, the chalice of My anger; you will never drink it again.”  “Your God reigns!”  “Behold, My servant will prosper, He will be high and lifted up and greatly exalted.”  Isaiah tells of a suffering Servant.  “He Himself bore the sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors.”  God promises Zion will be fruitful. “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn, this is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.”
